About the workshop

Join us for the COMP Reirradiation Workshop on June 4, 2025, at RBC Place in London, ON. Driven by the rising demand for reirradiation due to advancements in cancer therapies and longer patient survival, this event will bring together clinical physicists, academics, and industry professionals to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

We will explore the latest research and clinical approaches to reirradiation, as well as emerging commercial tools and innovative in-house solutions for image registration, dose accumulation, plan optimization, and evaluation. Discussions will also cover radiobiology, tissue recovery, data sharing, multi-institutional trials, and patient registries. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with experts, tackle key challenges, and explore ways to advance reirradiation practices both in Canada and internationally.

Target Audience

Medical physicists and other healthcare professionals interested in current applications and future developments in the field of reirradiation.  It is also ideal for anyone working on or interested in the latest advancements in reirradiation techniques and solutions, including those focused on image registration, dose accumulation, plan optimization, and clinical outcomes.

Goals and learning objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify best practices in re-irradiation from across Canada.
  2. Understand current software solutions available for re-irradiation, as well as anticipated future developments.
  3. Generate ideas and strategies for enhancing clinical workflows and dose accumulation methods in their own practice.

Continuing Education Credits

COMP has applied to CAMPEP for the approval of this activity for 6 Medical Physics Continuing Education Credit hours.
