Call For Proposals - Winter School 2022 

The annual COMP Winter School was initiated in 2009 and has provided a rich and unique opportunity to foster interprofessional collaborative relationships and embrace new knowledge, while advancing continuing education and professional development goals.  The faculty for the Winter School has traditionally included medical physicists, physicians, and therapists.  The program is designed to maximize interaction between participants, with faculty and with industry partners and typically includes hands-on sessions and workshops, micro-debates and interactive discussion sessions.

The COMP Education Committee is issuing an RFP for Winter School Topics. This RFP is intended for potential Winter School program directors to propose their ideas and intentions to the committee.

The Winter School is a key program for COMP for the following reasons:   

  •  It provides a continuing education opportunity for COMP members as well as the members of partnering organizations (eg. CARO, CAMRT, CAR)
  • It provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas
  • It contributes to the improvement of interprofessional relationships in the clinical environment
  • It contributes to the improvement of quality and safety in diagnosis and therapy
  • It provides a small surplus of funds to meet the long term goals of COMP

Proposals are invited for the 2022 Winter School which may be virtual (TBD).

Proposals should include the following:

Type of session (Therapy, Imaging, Joint)
Name of proposed Program Director
Short description (maximum 250 words)
Proposed duration of the school
Learning objectives
List of sessions
Number of Faculty required
Number of attendees expected
Teaching facilities required
Course materials required

A sample of the previous program schedule can be found here. Please note your proposal is meant to serve as a suggested topic of interest, and the content and list of faculty may be modified by the organizing committee.

All proposals will be reviewed by the COMP Education Committee which will be responsible for the final selection of topic, content, organizer, and faculty. The quality of the submission is only the minimum requirement in the review process. Proposal selection will be based on criteria such as relevance to clinical practice and topics presented in previous years.
