Winter School

The annual COMP Winter School was initiated in 2009 and has provided a rich and unique opportunity to foster interprofessional collaborative relationships and embrace new knowledge, while advancing continuing education and professional development goals.  The faculty for the Winter School has traditionally included medical physicists, physicians, and therapists.

The program is designed to maximize interaction between participants, faculty and industry partners and typically includes hands-on sessions and workshops, micro-debates and interactive discussion sessions.

The Winter School is a key program for COMP for the following reasons:

  • It provides a continuing education opportunity for COMP members as well as the members of partnering organizations
  • It provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas
  • It contributes to the improvement of interprofessional relationships in the clinical environment
  • It contributes to the improvement of quality and safety in diagnosis and therapy
  • It provides a small surplus of funds to meet the long term goals of COMP
