Canadian Agency for Drugs & Technologies in Health (CADTH)

The Canadian Agency for Drugs & Technologies in Health (CADTH) is an independent, not-for-profit organization responsible for providing Canada’s health care decision-makers with objective evidence to help make informed decisions about the optimal use of drugs and medical devices in our health care system.

With support from COMP, CADTH was able to collect data on how CT, MRI, PET-CT and PET, SPECT, SPECT-CT, and PET-MRI are being used, where they are located, and how many exams are conducted annually.

This information helps to guide planning and other decisions and helps identify gaps in service. As well, the data captured in the Canadian Medical Imaging Inventory (CMII) report enables CADTH to work with health care leaders, professional and clinical societies, and other stakeholders to identify and address critical barriers to the effective use of medical imaging.  For a copy of the report, please click here:  https://www.cadth.ca/medical-imaging.
