Pieces of Interest from COMP for the Week of April 17 – IUPAP Early Career Scientist Prize in Medical Physics 2023/Call for Nominations COMP Board of Directors/COMP Awards Nominations/COMP CWC-IDEA - IDEAs @ Home - Research Funding
Published on:
- The IUPAP Early Career Scientist Prize in Medical Physics 2023 was established and funded by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and is awarded by the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) as the IUPAP affiliated International Commission for Medical Physics.
- COMP is currently accepting applications to fill three (3) vacancies on the Board! Information on the vacant positions can be found here.
- Nominations for the COMP Gold Medal, Fellow of COMP, and Jerry Battista award are due April 30th! Simply click the award on the Awards page to access the online nomination form.
- Costs are up, graduate student stipends are flat, and research funding is tight. These are common topics of conversation, and given the latest federal budget announcement on March 28, this will likely not change anytime soon. The question then is: what do we do? We invite you to hear expert opinions and join in on a timely conversation on the state of healthcare research funding in Canada, how we got here, its impacts on accessibility, and where we go moving forward. If interested, we welcome you to join us on April 21 from 3:30–4:30pm ET on Zoom (register here).
