Health PEI is seeking a Medical Physics Assistant to join the team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown. This full-time permanent position plays a key role in supporting radiation oncology and diagnostic imaging programs through quality assurance, radiation safety, device development, applied research, and program efficiency. The role involves performing quality assurance measurements, developing and implementing new devices, creating structured processes using computer code, working with data across multiple platforms, and performing complex calculations.
Candidates should hold a master’s degree in science, preferably in medical physics, and have recent experience in experimental science, ideally within clinical radiation oncology or diagnostic imaging. Strong knowledge of radiation physics, imaging physics, dosimetry principles, and radiation safety is required, along with proficiency in computer applications and coding. Additional assets include CAMPEP-accredited education and experience with WHMIS, MATLAB, Python, SQL, and C#.
The position offers a salary range of $38.38 to $47.09 per hour, with 75 hours bi-weekly, Monday to Friday.
