Pieces of Interest from COMP for the week of June 24 – COMP Winter School 2025/SNMMI: New Study Suggests Merits of FAPI PET/CT for Breast Cancer Staging/CUMPC Conference

  • Get ready! The next COMP Winter School will be in person in Calgary, Alberta January 29 – February 1, 2025.
  • Can fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) PET/CT have an impact in staging for women with newly diagnosed breast cancer?
  • The CUMPC conference is a free, virtual conference happening from August 22-23, 2024 where undergraduate students will have the opportunity to present their research to an audience of their peers, with prizes awarded to the top presenters. Keynote speakers will also provide insights into the field of medical physics, highlighting potential career paths for those who choose to further pursue this field. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with current medical physics graduate students.

Any honours/summer research students with projects in medical physics (radiotherapy, imaging, dosimetry, metrology, etc.) are encouraged to submit an abstract for the opportunity to present their work. Abstract submission opens July 8th and closes July 31st. All undergraduate students with an interest in medical physics are encouraged to register and attend, regardless of whether they have a research project to present.
