Canada's Top Breast Cancer Experts Unite to Elevate National Standards in Care/Hands-On Brachytherapy Workshop/St. Michael’s Hospital opens first-in-Canada hybrid biplane OR to maximize efficiency and patient safety

  • Breast Cancer Canada has announced the formation of the REAL Canadian Breast Cancer Alliance, a national coalition of leading clinical and academic experts dedicated to establishing and advancing consistent, high-quality standards in breast cancer care across Canada.

  • Check out the Hands-On Brachytherapy Workshop, taking place on November 22-23, 2024, at the Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre in London, Ontario, which will focus on Gynecological, Prostate, and Penile brachytherapy. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on sessions, covering topics such as gynecologic brachytherapy applicators, 3D planning, and prostate brachytherapy techniques.   • Thanks to donor support, St. Michael’s Hospital has launched a cutting-edge hybrid biplane operating room for advanced neurovascular procedures. Known as Operating Room 19 (ORX), it is the first of its kind in Canada, combining the capabilities of a hybrid operating room with the sophisticated imaging technology of a radiological suite.
