  • This year, in honour of International Day of Medical Physics on November 7, the COMP Communications Committee invited the COMP membership to submit their best photos demonstrating this year’s theme: “Standing on the shoulders of giants.”  Entrants were encouraged to use their creativity and think outside the box. We received some fantastic submissions from our COMP community! We were so impressed with how people took the theme and made it their own, and we wanted to share all the entries so that everyone could appreciate their creativity, thoughtfulness and humour.

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted entries, and congratulations to our winner, Malcolm McEwen! He is the lucky recipient of $250 in ‘Currie Cash’ to use towards COMP membership or conference fees!
  • Dr. Elisabeth Sartoretti and her team at the University of Lucerne in Switzerland discovered that almost 75% of women expressed that the gender of the radiologist, whether male or female, had no impact on their experience during a breast ultrasound examination. Read the full article here.

  • Join COMP’s Sylvia Fedoruk doll on a thrilling nationwide journey across Canada! Beginning in Saskatoon, on behalf of the CWC-IDEA Committee, Sylvia celebrates the remarkable contributions of female medical physicists while gearing up for the 2024 COMP Annual Scientific Meeting in Regina this June. Stay tuned for updates on her travels and the connections she makes along the way!
