Internationally-Trained Medical Physicists: Challenges and Opportunities
Internationally-Trained Medical Physicists: Challenges and Opportunities
Canada and the U.S. face a growing shortage of medical physicists due to retirements and rising cancer care demand from an aging population. Internationally trained medical physicists (ITMPs) could help address this gap, but face barriers to integration into North American clinical practice.
Community of Practice Objectives:
- Identify employment challenges faced by ITMPs
- Develop solutions to overcome these barriers
- Create a forum for administrators, locally trained physicists, and ITMPs to connect
