About Winter School

The annual COMP Winter School was initiated in 2010 and has provided a rich and unique opportunity to foster interprofessional collaborative relationships and embrace new knowledge, while advancing continuing education and professional development goals.  The faculty for the Winter School has traditionally included medical physicists, physicians, and therapists. 

The program is designed to maximize interaction between participants, faculty and industry partners and typically includes hands-on sessions and workshops, micro-debates and interactive discussion sessions.

Advances in Breast Cancer Treatment and Imaging

This year’s program will help attendees:

  1.  Trace the evolution in management of breast cancer with radiotherapy 
  2.  Gain perspective on recent and emerging clinical trial outcomes in breast radiotherapy 
  3.  Bring your knowledge up to date on breast cancer imaging and the utilization of imaging techniques in the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer
  4.  Develop insight into current and emerging techniques in breast radiotherapy simulation, treatment planning and treatment delivery. 
  5.  Engage with a panel to learn the strengths and shortcomings of breast cancer management from a patient perspective
