Hello and Welcome. I am Wayne Beckham, President of the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists.

I’m delighted to invite you to the exciting LIVE and IN-PERSON 68th COMP Annual Scientific Meeting being held this summer, June 22-25, 2022, at the Fairmont Frontenac, in historic Québec City, QC.

With this opportunity to be together, we themed the meeting: “Science: Unplugged”. The ASM is a unique opportunity to foster collaborative relationships and to share and embrace new knowledge. Participants engage in leading edge continuing education and learn about the latest developments in medical physics research. We’re offering exceptional scientific, educational, and professional symposia, proffered sessions, along with a range of continuing education opportunities. Our technical exhibition will provide the opportunity to meet with vendors and discuss their services and support.

Québec City is one of the oldest European cities in North America, known for its rich history, cobblestone streets, European architecture, and fortification. The Fairmont Frontenac, located in Old Québec, and built in the late 1800s by the Canadian Pacific Railway, is considered the world’s most photographed hotel and was designated a National Historic Site in 1981. The city offers many great attractions and more with significant history and culture, all in a compact region.

We are acutely aware that travel and in-person meetings have been limited during the last two years of the pandemic. Appropriate health precautions are being considered and the ASM will adhere to all health protocols in place at the time of the meeting.  We hope this will make for a safe and enjoyable meeting for all on-site participants.

It is you, the meeting attendee, who will greatly contribute to the success of the meeting. I sincerely look forward to meeting you in Québec City, QC, to help us in Celebrating Medical Physics!
